Classes

Alignment Hatha Yoga

Hatha yoga emphasizes the balance of the feminine and masculine aspects within all of us and is a powerful tool for self-transformation. This practice develops balance, strength and flexibility in our bodies. Through proper alignment and attention to breath, we still the mind and bring awareness on the present moment. Postures are taken at a slower pace, with intention and emphasis on comfort and stability. This class is intended for beginner to intermediate students.

Beginner Yoga

Gentle guidance with the use of props, anyone can learn these basic sitting, standing and bending poses. Wear comfortable clothing, bring a bottle of water, an open heart and your sense of humor. Come explore you!

Gentle Yoga

This is a gentle yoga class incorporating the use of a chair to perform seated postures and assist in standing postures. You will learn various yoga poses, breathing techniques, meditation and relaxation techniques. This class is for beginners or those with difficulty getting up and down from the floor. However, in time, the goal of this class is to develop more independence from the chair by building strength, flexibility and confidence to move from chair to floor.

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga addresses the deeper connective tissues including tendons, ligaments, and joints. Poses are normally held for longer periods of time with focus on the hips, pelvis and lower spine. Yin yoga is ideal for those with stiffness or mobility issues due to age, illness or sedentary work and is appropriate for any level student.

Vinyassa Flow Yoga

Vinyasa Flow yoga is known for its flowing poses and sequences that are linked to the breath. This class is for beginner thru advanced practitioners but tends to be a more athletic approach to yoga.

SLOW FLOW LEVEL 1 Bridges the gap between Hatha and Vinyasa Flow. We incorporate the breath-guided flowing sequences of Vinyasa taking time to address alignment in the body building strength, flexibility and increasing the flow of prana (life force). Some yoga experience is recommended for this class. Student should feel comfortable in downward facing dog and have some familiarity with Sun Salutations.

VINYASA FLOW LEVEL 1/2  uses breath-synchronized movements to connect body and mind. Normally a more athletic practice, vinyasa builds heat in the body, promoting strength, flexibility, focus and body awareness. This is a more intermediate class intended for those with a regular yoga practice and solid foundation of alignment.

Yang/Yin Yoga

Yang/Yin Yoga is a complete yoga practice. Yang poses address the more masculine tissues by stretching and strengthening muscles and bringing heat to the body. Yang practice includes sun salutations and standing postures. Once the body is warmed up, this allows the more feminine Yin, deeper connective tissues, to soften. The Yin part of our practice will focus mostly on floor poses being held for 3-5 minutes to allow the body to open and go deeper into the joints, fascial network and bones. Feel balanced and centered after this beautiful practice. Some yoga experience recommended.

.

Mindful Yoga Movement

A blend of asanas (postures) and meditation to open, lengthen and focus the body, mind and spirit. All levels are welcome in this class.

Restorative Yoga

Enjoy the sweetness of deep physical, mental and emotional relaxation. Restorative yoga consists of gentle poses using props for support and long holds to open the body leaving you feel calm and refreshed and ready for a good night's sleep. All levels welcome.

Power Yoga

Power Yoga is a vigorous, fitness-based approach to vinyasa style yoga. The practice combines movement, balance, stretch, and strength to create long, lean muscles, a strong core, and a calm mind. Best for intermediate to advanced practitioners.

Unnata Aerial Yoga

Unnata® Aerial Yoga takes a traditional yoga class and elevates the experience! Asanas (postures) are practiced with focus on breath, alignment, and meditation as we work with gravity to experience muscle release, body alignment, and greater strength.

Aerial Yoga uses a fabric hammock as a prop to enhance traditional yoga poses, deepening your experience within the pose and allowing for ease in inversions. Class sequencing moves between the mat and hammock for a deeper awareness and balanced practice.

Aerial yoga is ideally for students with some yoga experience. For comfort in the hammock, wear pants that go below the knee and tops that cover your armpits.

$25 for drop-ins. $10 for those using a class package. Class size is limited, so please register ahead of time on-line. If you have any medical issues that prevent you from inverting or back-bending (glaucoma, heart condition, spine injury, etc), please obtain your doctor’s permission.
